Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal data Metis AI Advisory collects, why, and what you can do about it. We handle personal data in line with the Hong Kong Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (Cap. 486) ("PDPO"). It also serves as our Personal Information Collection Statement.
1. Who we are
Metis AI Advisory ("Metis", "we", "us") is a business based in Hong Kong, operated by Christian Ng, providing private AI advisory and training. We are the data user responsible for the personal data described here. You can reach us at christian@metisaihk.com.
2. What we collect
We only collect what we need to respond to you and run our services.
Information you give us
When you submit the consultation form on this website, we collect your name, email address, your role or company (optional), where you are with AI, and any message you choose to send. If you contact us by email or messaging, we collect what you send us.
Information collected automatically
When you visit the website, we collect standard usage information through analytics — such as the pages you view, approximate (city-level) location, referring links, and device and browser type. This is used in aggregate to understand how the site is used. It is not used to identify you personally.
Providing your personal data is voluntary. If you do not provide the information requested on the form, we may not be able to respond to your enquiry.
3. Why we use it
- to reply to your enquiry and arrange a consultation;
- to provide, manage and improve our services;
- to understand and improve how the website is used; and
- to meet our legal and record-keeping obligations.
We do not sell your personal data, and we will not use it to send you marketing or add you to any mailing list without your consent.
4. Sharing & transfers
We share personal data only with service providers that help us operate the website and communicate with you, and only as needed for those purposes. These currently include:
- Formspree — processes and delivers consultation-form submissions to us;
- Google Analytics — provides website usage analytics;
- Vercel — hosts this website.
Some of these providers store or process data on servers outside Hong Kong, including in the United States. We take reasonable steps to ensure your data is handled with appropriate protection. We may also disclose personal data where required by law or a regulator.
5. Cookies & analytics
This website uses Google Analytics, which sets cookies (small files stored by your browser) to measure how the site is used. You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics using Google's opt-out tools. Blocking cookies will not stop you from using the site.
6. How long we keep it
We keep your personal data only for as long as needed for the purposes above — to handle your enquiry, provide our services, and keep reasonable business records — after which we delete or anonymise it. Analytics data is retained according to our analytics provider's standard retention settings.
7. Security
We take reasonably practicable steps to protect personal data from unauthorised access, loss or misuse. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to keep your data safe and limit who can access it.
8. Your rights
Under the PDPO, you have the right to ask us whether we hold your personal data, to request a copy of it, and to ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate. You can also ask us to stop using it. To make a request, email us at christian@metisaihk.com. We may need to verify your identity and, where the law allows, we may charge a reasonable fee for a data-access request.
