AI Events in Singapore

Singapore's problem is not a shortage of AI events — it is that half of them are trade shows in disguise and the other half are academic conferences wearing an industry badge. This page is the filtered version: what is genuinely on, checked against the organiser's own listing, with a judgment on the format, the audience, and whether it repays a working professional's day. The same list Metis AI keeps for its own clients.

TechInnovation x AIMX Singapore 2026

Sands Expo & Convention Centre, Singapore

Who it’s for: Operations and transformation leads shopping for vendors. The matchmaking format rewards anyone arriving with a defined problem and a budget; everyone else gets an expo hall.

What the Singapore calendar is actually like

Singapore's AI calendar is dominated by professionally run trade shows, which is both its strength and its problem. Sands Expo and Marina Bay Sands host most of the large events, Singapore Expo out at Changi takes the very largest, and the university campuses — SMU, NUS — carry the student and research end. The geography matters more than visitors expect: a Marina Bay event is walkable from most business hotels, while a Changi one is a committed half-day before you have heard a word.

The trade-show economics shape what you actually get. Big Data & AI World Asia and the wider Tech Week Singapore are free or cheap to attend because exhibitors pay for the floor, which means the theatre programme is largely vendor-led and the real value sits in meetings booked beforehand. The genuinely selective events — AI in Finance Summit APAC, the closed-door executive tracks at Singapore FinTech Festival — cost real money and earn it only if you are past the pilot stage and want peers rather than suppliers.

Everything runs in English, and the government-linked calendar (SGInnovate, IMDA, AI Singapore) is unusually reliable: dates are published early and rarely move. Treat the academic listings with more suspicion. Singapore attracts a steady flow of recurring, paid, low-relevance academic conferences that look official and are not — check the organiser, never the aggregator. The most overrated event type here is the general “AI transformation” summit. The most underrated is the government-linked deep-tech evening: free, small, and full of people actually building something.

Why this list exists

Metis AI advises Hong Kong professionals and their teams on putting AI to work — which tools, which workflows, and which of this calendar is genuinely worth a Tuesday evening. The list is a by-product of that advisory work, kept current because clients keep asking for it.

If the harder question is what to actually do with AI inside your own role, that is a conversation rather than a conference.
